Alltel phone dead. How can I change to my old Motorola Q cell phone?
My regular Alltel cell phone died out of warranty. I used to use a Motorola Q phone that I switched off of for some reason or another. What would it take to switch my current phone back to the Q? How would I go about doing it?
Call Alltel and tell them you want to swap your service into the Q.

I have an alltel cell phone, motorola V3A, and I also have that motorola phone tools thing. It has the option to connect to the internet through my cell phone (I still have dial-up and I hear that good reception on a cell phone can get you like 5 or 6X
yes it does use mins. you can call alltel and have them add axcess mins package to your phone for $10 and it will not count against your mins.

The problem is I connect the USB to the computer from the phone but the computer isn't recognizing it as a connection but the phone is recognizing that it's connected
You need to do use their packaged software to do the transfer.
Your phone should have come with a disc that contained some software to install on your computer.
Find the disc or do a google search for your model of phone

Well you could just buy the appropriate bluetooth set in the beginning and not have to worry about the compatibility

While i agree with the other answer, here’s how 2 actually do that in greater detail. the unlimited internet plan you described is for the internet access on your phone. To access this on your computer, you need the “phone as a modem” option on your plan. I pay $30 a month for it. The data usage is unlimited, truly unlimited, not limited to 5GB a month, like other wireless providers. you need to go to an Alltel store and have them put that on the plan, and you’ll need to download some software. They can tell you how to download it from the internet and where, or, if you bring in a USB device with at least 512MB, then they can install it on that, and in turn, you can install it on your laptop. Going to the store is easier, since you can ask questions face to face, and not be stuck trying to describe something over the phone, and you can get your answers questioned faster.

Wow…so many annoying problems. Although the phone has “fixed” itself now it was very very annoying for a while. First I could not receive calls then people could not dial my number, then people had to dial my number plus area code. Second every text I received was duplicated, triplicated or multiplied up to 10 times! As in I would receive the same text multiple times. I called my carrier and wondered if I was being charged, i was not charged so the phone was just buggin alot. They said it was getting used to the “network” it took 4 weeks for it to get used to the network. I hope this doesnt happen to anyone. Other than those problems the phone is fantastic, solid build, great camera, awesome UI.

In my family both my mother and sister on are on Alltel and on my wifes side they have 10 people still on Alltel. In this area of Ohio it is very common to see Alltel stores everywhere as they are in many places the only provider that has service. Here in NE Ohio Verizon was not permitted to buy Alltel and AT&T is non-existent so Alltel is still alive and well here. So for them this is good news. @ Pdimaso yawn :O this is news worthy, really ?
